This began as a large version of Log Cabin, but then I decided to make the strips in different widths, I like how it turned out.

Quilting

Quilt for Adam

Adam is a friend and patient of mine, he is five years old and loves tractors

This quilt was made with tractor fabric donated by my friend who is a sewing in kind Karen, she also gave me the green and red solid fabrics.

the plaid fabrics are rescued fabric from two of Daniel's shirts, the cuffs and collars were frayed a bit, but the rest of the shirt fabric was perfect.

Happy New Year

My first sewing project of 2011 is very simple, using a frayed terry bath mat I found in the linen closet, I refurbished it using scraps from the stash. It was easy, simple and very pretty.

Christmas Stockings

I have not written here for a while, long while! I have been busy lately with job, but also creating in the sewing room. A good friend of mine asked if I would make her family some new stockings for Christmas. So I was happy to. Since I last blogged here, I acquired a new sewing/embroidering machine. I have enjoyed learning about this machine and trying out designs.. It came in handy for personalizing these stockings, and I love the way they came out.

Vacation and Sewing, Birthday

Chapel at Orton Plantation

Camera Cases
My birthday was last Thursday, My husband Daniel surprised me with a new camara, Nikon Coolpics. Such a great present and I am enjoying it.

We spent a few days with our son, he lives at the beach so it was a great getaway, I managed to not get completely sunburned, thanks to an umbrella and lots of sunscreen. Just a few pink places where both protection items failed me. We visited two plantations in eastern NC, which I enjoyed.

We returned home last evening, both tired, but relaxed. Today I got back to the sewing room and tried out the new Camera Case Wristlet pattern written by Michelle of Keyka Lou Patterns

I enjoy all of her patterns, they are well written with lots of pictures.

here are a couple of pictures taken while on vacation
